It is widely believed that the bulldog was crossed with the English White Terrier (now extinct) to make what is now known as the American Pit Bull Terrier. There is no substantial grounds of that, so no one can say that for sure.
Pit bulls have gained a reputation over the age as being a harmful dog to own just because of its account of being bred with an accent on its dog fighting abilities. There are three primary types of pit bulls recognized by most dog experts and dog breed organizations and they`re the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, as easily as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
