Bellator Roundup: Featherweight Semis Replace Warren-Pitbull at .

Bellator`s Canadian debut with Bellator 47 on July 23 will now feature a pair of featherweight semifinals after losing a title fight between Joe Warren and Patirico "Pitbull" Freire.

Warren will now turning his care to becoming a two-division champion in Bellator`s season five bantamweight tournament, while the packaging has also signed prospects Thiago Michel and Rad Martinez.

Bellator 47 Adds Featherweight Semis, Loses Warren-Pitbull Title Fight

A title fight between Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren and Patricio "Pitbull" Freire has been scrapped from Bellator 47, after the season four tournament winner Freire was recently sidelined by a hand injury.

However, Bellator`s Canadian debut on July 23 in Rama, Ontario will instead have the semifinals of its Summer Series featherweight tournament, with Marlon Sandro vs. Nazareno Malegarie and Pat Curran vs. Ronnie Mann.

Warren Looks for Second Championship in Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament

Warren`s title defense against Freire will now get to delay until after he tries to get a two-division champion by dropping to 135 pounds for Bellator`s season five bantamweight tournament.

Opening round matchups for the tournament were recently announced for Bellator 51 on Sept. 24, featuring Warren vs. Alexis Vila, Eduardo Dantas vs. Joe Soto, Ed West vs. Luiz Nogueira, and Marcos Galvao vs. Chase Beebe.

Bellator Adds Thiago Michel, Rad Martinez

Bellator has likewise been busy bolstering its roster with rising prospects, as it recently added Brazilian striker Thiago Michel to its lightweight division along with featherweight Rad Martinez, an NCAA Division I All American wrestler who was featured on ESPN`s "Outside the Lines" as the caretaker of his brain damaged father.
